Like Rain — TikTok Live Social overlay

Like Rain showers hearts from the sky on like bursts, density scaling with each burst's size. No digits, no goals — it makes the act of liking visible as pure atmosphere.

Prerequisite: install and run TKStudio (Windows desktop) and connect it to the TikTok LIVE room you are streaming. This article stands on its own — from configuration to OBS / TikTok LIVE Studio setup.

When to use it

Native TikTok gives likes almost no visible feedback; drifting hearts reward the click instantly, and viewers spam likes just to watch it rain. Music, talent, and chat rooms come alive without a permanent numeric nag.

Density scaling makes mass-like waves look like an avalanche — perfect emotional fuel during vote drives.

The demo video above shows Like Rain in action (both EN and ZH versions), and the cover previews the layout; the plugin page's live preview is the source of truth.

Configuration

Configure everything on the plugin page in TKStudio — tune on the left, preview live on the right, then hit Generate link. The table below lists every parameter in panel order, its default, and practical gotchas.

ParameterDescriptionDefaultGotchas
intensityHow many hearts each like burst spawns. (1–10)5Very high intensity saturates the max-hearts cap and later likes show nothing new.
maxHeartsMax hearts on screen at once. (20–160, step 5)80This cap protects performance — don't max it out on weak streaming PCs.
fallSecHeart fall duration. (1.5–6, step 0.1)3.2Longer = slower, calmer drift; shorter = denser and punchier.
sizeOverall overlay scale (1–10). (1–10)5You can still resize in OBS / LIVE Studio afterwards; avoid stacking both too small.

How to use it in OBS

This section assumes you have generated and copied the link: open TKStudio → pick Like Rain → choose the room and tune parameters → Generate linkCopy link. Keep TKStudio running while you stream — the overlay link talks to the local TKStudio process.

Generate the Like Rain overlay link in TKStudio

Add the link to OBS as a Browser Source:

  1. In the Sources dock click +Browser.
  2. Paste the copied link into URL; set width / height to your canvas (usually 1920×1080).
  3. Leave Shutdown source when not visible unchecked so the overlay never pauses.
  4. Click OK, then drag / resize the source into position.

Placement: Fullscreen effect, no placement needed; lower the on-screen cap (40–60) on weak PCs to protect framerate.

How to use it in TikTok LIVE Studio

If you go live with TikTok LIVE Studio, the approach is the same — a browser layer, nearly identical to OBS:

  1. Open your scene / layer list in TikTok LIVE Studio.
  2. Add a Browser layer.
  3. Paste the link from Copy link into the URL field.
  4. Match the canvas size (e.g. 1920×1080) and keep the background transparent.
  5. Position the layer, go live, and send a test chat / gift to confirm it animates.
