Text Stack — TikTok Live Text overlay

Text Stack builds lines of copy one by one with GSAP-driven enter/exit presets (float, slide) and per-line color. Loop your slogans, rules, and perks.

Prerequisite: install and run TKStudio (Windows desktop) and connect it to the TikTok LIVE room you are streaming. This article stands on its own — from configuration to OBS / TikTok LIVE Studio setup.

When to use it

Rules, perks, and schedules need to be visible to anyone arriving mid-stream. Staggered stacking gives them rhythm without you repeating yourself. Shopping rooms loop 'follow for the coupon / tap the cart' in three rotating lines.

Per-line color builds hierarchy: red for the headline, white for secondary, grey for fine print.

The demo video above shows Text Stack in action (both EN and ZH versions), and the cover previews the layout; the plugin page's live preview is the source of truth.

Configuration

Configure everything on the plugin page in TKStudio — tune on the left, preview live on the right, then hit Generate link. The table below lists every parameter in panel order, its default, and practical gotchas.

ParameterDescriptionDefaultGotchas
effectEnter/exit animation preset (float, slide, …).floatPresets have different pacing — preview a full loop before deciding.
fontSizeFont size in pixels. (16–64)28Works together with Scale: set font size first, then scale the whole overlay.
sizeOverall overlay scale (1–10). (1–10)5You can still resize in OBS / LIVE Studio afterwards; avoid stacking both too small.
holdSecHold time for a result or message. (0.5–8, step 0.1)2Wheels need ≥3s so winners can screenshot the result.
staggerSecDelay between consecutive lines entering. (0.1–1.2, step 0.05)0.35Small = tidy, large = layered; tune together with hold time.
linesList of text lines / ticker content. Each line can carry its own color; order is the playback order.

How to use it in OBS

This section assumes you have generated and copied the link: open TKStudio → pick Text Stack → choose the room and tune parameters → Generate linkCopy link. Keep TKStudio running while you stream — the overlay link talks to the local TKStudio process.

Generate the Text Stack overlay link in TKStudio

Add the link to OBS as a Browser Source:

  1. In the Sources dock click +Browser.
  2. Paste the copied link into URL; set width / height to your canvas (usually 1920×1080).
  3. Leave Shutdown source when not visible unchecked so the overlay never pauses.
  4. Click OK, then drag / resize the source into position.

Placement: Top-left/right info zone; 3–5 lines, and tune stagger + hold to your speaking pace.

How to use it in TikTok LIVE Studio

If you go live with TikTok LIVE Studio, the approach is the same — a browser layer, nearly identical to OBS:

  1. Open your scene / layer list in TikTok LIVE Studio.
  2. Add a Browser layer.
  3. Paste the link from Copy link into the URL field.
  4. Match the canvas size (e.g. 1920×1080) and keep the background transparent.
  5. Position the layer, go live, and send a test chat / gift to confirm it animates.
